Parking update for WMPP Picket Line

There is absolutely no parking on Wellington. No exceptions.

We have secured a parking lot near the WMPP picket line. Parking is available free of charge across from 1155 Sherwin Rd. We have a team of shuttle drivers organized to zip people back and forth between the picket line and the parking lot. This lot is park at your own risk. Secure your vehicle and do not leave valuables in view. Shuttle drivers do their best to keep an eye on the lot when they are not driving members back and forth, but there will be times when the vehicles here are unnattended. Please try to park in such a way that you are not blocking other people in, but also make efforts to park so that space is maximized, particularly if the shift you are arriving for is expected to be busy. This lot is somewhere around a 15-18 minute walk to the picket line, some people may opt to arrive early and just walk it. For safety reasons we encourage people to not do this alone. If you are going to walk, please try to coordinate with other members and walk together.

There have been many questions about parking on the “service road” in front of the WMPP that connects Wellington and Saskatchewan. This road belongs to the Winnipeg Airport Authority, and we do *NOT* have permsission to park on it. Anyone parking here is doing so again at their own risk. It is possible that a tow-truck will be called to deal with vehicles parked in this area. We’ve arranged alternate parking for you, and encourage you to take advantage of it. If you park in the Service Road area and a tow-truck is called to deal with your vehicle you will be on your own. The Local will not be able to assist you with any costs or efforts associated.
