Attention all members:
We have now confirmed that the employer has coded, or intends to code, December 18, 2025 (the blizzard day) as a personal day for members who did not report to work.
This is not acceptable.
On December 18, all delivery and support staff were explicitly instructed not to come in due to dangerous weather conditions. Members did not request personal days and would have reported to work if instructed to do so.
Because of how the employer is handling this, each affected member must file an individual grievance.
What you need to do NOW
Check Employee Self ServeConfirm how December 18 is coded
Take a screenshot or printout
Ensure your name and employee number are visible
Gather proof of communicationScreenshot or print any of the following:
Text messages from your supervisor
Call logs
Any other messages or instructions you received that day
Request time with a Shop Steward (in writing)Provide the request to your supervisor
Have them sign it
Keep a copy
Example wording:
> “I, __________, am requesting time with a Shop Steward for the purpose of a grievance investigation.”
This is paid time off the floor (OT or route coverage).
