CUPW Childcare
The CUPW Child Care Fund helps support CUPW parents with children aged 0 to 12. Working with community partners means the union can help its members balance work and family responsibilities by supporting access to high-quality, regulated child care.
Knox Day Nursery is a non-profit child care facility offering centre-based child care for children ages 3 months to 6 years and is open Monday to Friday from 6:30 am – 5:30 pm.
All children are valued, accepted and included; and embrace inclusion and celebrate diversity such as culture, language, religion, socio-economic status and ability. Children are entitled to full participation and support to meet their individual needs, using a strength based, families centered approach where we all learn from each other.
Subsidies are available for qualifying families.
Make sure to identify yourself as a CUPW member.
In Our Own Words
CUPW Special Needs Project celebrates 20 years
The Special Needs Project (SNP) is an initiative of the CUPW Child Care Fund, and is a one‑of‑a‑kind program. It was launched in 1996 after a union-sponsored study found that parents of children with disabilities face more barriers to workforce participation than others. The project provides information, resources and financial support to families with children who have special needs, to help reduce the emotional, physical and financial stresses and improve their quality of life.
In Winnipeg, Knox Day Nursery meets the changing needs of the community, including flexible hours of child care. Knox Day Nursery provides care to children aged 18 months to six years, serving families from diverse cultures and integrating children with special needs. The centre is open from 6:30 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.
