CPC has publicly stated its view of the future. Before the IIC (Kaplan Commission) it stated it plans to impose the following conditions for all unionized workers at CPC:
- Management to unilaterally determine all staffing of operations;
- End route and work ownership for RSMCs and letter carriers;
- Management to have the power to unilaterally
- “right-size the workforce” through layoffs;
- Management to arbitrarily determine “the mix of part time and full-time jobs”;
- Reduce leave entitlements;
- Remove double time overtime premiums;
- Increase employee premiums for post-retirement benefits;
- Place future hires on a Defined Contribution pension.
